Illustrated map of northern Vietnam: Sapa, Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh

Every city
has its own flavor

Pho bo in Hanoi, seafood in Ha Long, goat in Ninh Binh, trout in the Sapa mountains. Northern Vietnam on a single route.

Pho bo, Hanoi

Real Hanoi pho: clear broth, fresh herbs, rice noodles. The city's classic breakfast.

Ha Long seafood

Oysters, crab, and squid fresh on board. No restaurant, just the living bay around you.

Goat in Ninh Binh

A local specialty for generations. Tender and spicy, with wild mountain herbs.

Trout in Sapa

Cold-water mountain fish: farms around Sapa mostly raise salmon and sturgeon.

Egg coffee, Hanoi

Cà phê trứng, a Hanoi original. Whipped egg yolk over coffee: warm, rich, and hard to forget.

Sapa herbal tea

Hmong mountain herbs are part of every visit. Every plant comes with a story and a legend.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT THE TOUR

How hard is the 7-day northern route with Sapa?
The pace is active, but there is no mountaineering. The trek through the Sapa rice terraces is easy, and a cable car takes you up Fansipan (3,143 m). Average fitness and comfortable shoes are all you need.
When is the best time to visit northern Vietnam?
The best months are October–November and March–April, 20–28 °C (about 68–82 °F). From December to February it is cool in the north: 10–18 °C in Hanoi and around 0 °C at night in Sapa. The golden terraces are at their best from late September through October.
Can I see both the mountains and Ha Long Bay in 7 days?
Yes. The route covers 4 locations: Hanoi, Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh (the “dry Ha Long”), and mountain Sapa. That is the whole north in one trip, without rushing.
Is this tour a good fit for a first trip to Vietnam?
Yes. This is our number one pick for first-timers: the northern classics (Hanoi + Ha Long) plus mountains and ethnic minority villages. It is the richest route we run in terms of experiences.
What is included in the price of the 7-day tour?
$1,600 is the Light package: route organization, an English-speaking guide on the whole route, all tours and entry tickets, the Ha Long Bay cruise, the Fansipan cable car, a 24/7 manager, and an official contract. Between cities you travel by regular transport and we arrange the journeys. Accommodation is not included in Light: 3★+ hotels, all transfers, and breakfasts start with the Full package ($2,140). VIP ($3,620) adds 4–5★ hotels, a private car for short transfers, and a dinner at an authentic spot in every city where you stay overnight. International flights are not included in any package.
What insurance is included in the tour?
The price includes Luma Vietnam Pass, Plan 3 medical insurance. Cover limits: medical expenses — $100,000; accident (death or disability) — $43,500. It covers inpatient and outpatient treatment, including COVID-19, emergency evacuation, repatriation, including repatriation of remains, about $43 for each day in hospital, baggage, and flight delay — $22 for every 6 hours.
