A mud bath in Nha Trang costs $10 to $15 at the two big springs, I-Resort and Thap Ba, depending on how many share the tub. The soak itself is short, a quarter of an hour or a bit more. Plan a half day for the whole visit, because changing, the hot pool and the ride out add up to two or three hours.

I took the prices from this year’s resort price lists and travel guides and converted dong to dollars at the going rate, so treat them as a guide and confirm at the ticket desk. I have run tours in Vietnam since 2023, and Nha Trang is a regular stop on them.

Which Nha Trang mud bath fits your day?

I-Resort suits a family half day, with a water park, free towels and an $8 entry ticket. Thap Ba is the cheapest mud soak, ten to fifteen minutes from the centre. 100 Egg offers quiet and photos, Hon Tam an island half day, and Galina mud for when you have no time to leave the city.

What happens in a 20-minute mud bath?

You lie in a tub of warm, thick water at 37 to 39 °C for 15 to 20 minutes, rinse under a shower, then sit in a hot mineral pool for another 20 to 30 minutes.

Thap Ba and I-Resort both sit on a real geothermal spring, where the water at the borehole is 56 to 60 °C and is cooled before anyone bathes. The mud here is white clay stirred into warm mineral water. Operators and travel sites talk about softer skin and relaxed muscles, but the sources I read offer no medical proof, so I treat a mud bath as a relaxing soak.

How much do Nha Trang mud baths cost in 2026?

At the two big springs a mud bath costs $10 to $15 per person, and an entry ticket without mud is $5 to $8. Prices fall as the group in the tub grows, and every resort sells pricier packages with massage, herbs or lunch on top. The table shows the cheapest mud option at each place.

ResortEntry onlyMud bath, fromRide from the centre
Thap Ba$5$1010–15 min
I-Resort$8$1315–20 min
100 Egg$6$1220 min
Hon Tam—$177–10 min by boat, plus the ride to the pier
Galina—$130 min, in the centre

The top end is far higher: a private Mud House bungalow at I-Resort with massage and a light lunch starts at $54 per person, and the dearest package at the egg-tub park is $27. Check the desk on the day, because tariffs change.

What are I-Resort and Thap Ba like inside?

Both springs offer mud tubs, hot mineral pools and showers. They differ in size, crowds and price: I-Resort is a large park built for families, while Thap Ba is an older, compact complex close to the city.

I-Resort: the big family park

I-Resort covers about 12 hectares in Xuan Ngoc village, west of Nha Trang, and opened in 2012. Entry with thermal pools and a water park costs $8 for an adult and $4 for a child (200,000 and 100,000 dong). A 20-minute mud bath includes entry and costs $15 for one to three people in the tub, $13 for a group of four or more.

The park opens from 08:00 to 17:30, with the last entry at 16:30. Mud and herbal baths close at 15:00 and the hot pools at 17:00. Towels and lockers are free, and there are waterfalls and a grotto with a Charcot shower, which is a high-pressure jet massage. The changing rooms get criticised in reviews, so I would be at the gate by eight.

Thap Ba: the original, near the towers

Thap Ba opened in 1999 and is called the first mud complex in Vietnam. It stands at 438 Ngo Den street, 4 to 6 km north of the centre and close to the Po Nagar towers. A shared tub for one or two people costs $13 (350,000 dong), $12 for three to five and $10 for six or more, and a pools-only ticket is $5.

You get shared and private mud tubs, hot mineral pools, a jacuzzi, a waterfall and a sauna. Sources disagree on hours: some say 07:00 to 19:30 with the last entry around 18:00, others 07:30 to 17:30. Arrive before lunch to be safe. The grounds are modest, and the low price is the point.

Are 100 Egg, Hon Tam and Galina worth the trip?

Yes, if you want something the big springs cannot give: calm, a boat ride or mud without leaving the centre. The ride is longer for 100 Egg, needs a boat for Hon Tam and is zero for Galina, so each one trades convenience against atmosphere.

100 Egg: quiet and photogenic

The park lies about 9 km south of the centre, in a banana grove, and its tubs are shaped like eggs. It is the newest and quietest of the group, with a park of 20 to 23 hectares, and the national tourism site vietnam.travel puts the mud there at 38 to 40 °C. What you pay here over Thap Ba buys the setting and the quiet, which is a fair trade for photographers but not for anyone who only wants the soak. Opening hours differ between sources, 08:00 to 19:00 or 07:30 to 18:00, so confirm before you ride out.

Hon Tam: an island half day

Hon Tam sits on an island in the bay, 7 km from the shore, and is called the largest island mud complex in Vietnam, at 16,000 sq m. The boat takes 7 to 10 minutes and leaves every 30 to 60 minutes, and tickets usually include the crossing. VIP tickets with a buffet and a beach reach $50, so I only upgrade when the beach is the point of the day.

Galina: mud in the city centre

Galina Mud Bath & Spa fills the fourth floor of the Galina Hotel & Spa at 5 Hung Vuong street. It offers 29 treatment rooms with hot mud, a sauna, a jacuzzi and an onsen, so you get spa rooms and no open tubs. Prices run to $37, and it works when a trip out of town does not fit your day.

How do you get there and back?

Take a Grab taxi to the springs, because the app shows the fare before you confirm. A ride costs $2 to $6 one way (50,000 to 150,000 dong), and the guide to Grab and offline maps in Nha Trang shows how to set it up before you land.

City beach and promenade in Nha Trang

The return from I-Resort is harder. The place is remote and few drivers are free on the app, so ask reception to call a taxi or book a transfer in advance, or you may be stuck in the heat with wet towels. On a trip with a guide the transport both ways is part of the day, so send me your dates on Telegram and I will arrange the return car from I-Resort for your time.

When should you go and what should you bring?

Go in the morning. I-Resort is nearly empty at 08:00, groups arrive from 11:00 and queues form by noon, and weekdays are calmer than weekends. The busiest periods are June to August, Tet and 30 April, so arrive at opening on those days. Check your month in the Nha Trang weather guide before you fix the date. If the mud bath is one stop on a longer trip, the ready-made Samurai routes show how it fits between other days.

Hands covered with wet clay
Wet clay on the hands, so bring a change of clothes to any Nha Trang mud bath
  • swimwear you do not mind staining, because mud marks fabric and you can rent a suit on site;
  • flip-flops for the wet paths;
  • a towel, which is free at I-Resort, while at Thap Ba and 100 Egg you bring your own or rent one;
  • a change of clothes for after the shower;
  • a bottle of water for the hot pool.

How do you decide between them?

A free morning fits Thap Ba, since you can finish before lunch and keep the afternoon for the beach. A family half day fits I-Resort, with its pools and water park, and the plan in Nha Trang in one day shows where the Po Nagar towers and the beach slot in around it.

Buying a ticket needs no booking, so a self-guided trip is easy. The hard part is logistics: the morning ride, the queue and the return car from a remote spot can eat half the day. I take that part off your plate on a route, so tell me which dates you are in Nha Trang and I will show you how to fit the mud bath into them.

Frequently asked questions

Who should skip a mud bath, including pregnant women?

Guides usually advise against it with high blood pressure, heart disease, open wounds and skin infections, and suggest pregnant women skip it because of the heat. This is general guidance, not medical advice, so ask a doctor.

At what height does a child pay the child fare?

I-Resort goes by height: free under 100 cm, child fare at 100 to 150 cm, adult fare above 150 cm. A child’s mud bath costs half the adult price. Thap Ba also prices children by height, so confirm the exact figure at the desk.

What do I do with jewellery and my phone?

Leave jewellery at the hotel. Bring a waterproof phone pouch, otherwise the phone stays in a locker and you go without photos.

Is the ticket desk cheaper than booking online?

Yes. One travel guide estimates that platforms such as Viator and Klook add 25% to 50% to the desk price, and no advance booking is needed. For Hon Tam in high season or on holidays, book the boat one or two days ahead.
